A New Chapter Begins…
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010Yesterday, I posted the following over on The James Gang blog…
Well, its official.
Today is the first day of the next chapter for me in ministry and vocation.
Since January 1, 2007, I’ve worked under the umbrella of Life-Trac Family Ministries. The first 3 months were part-time, while I continued raising “missionary-style” support. April 1, 2007 I launched out full-time. Today, one month shy of 3 full-time years, the Lord has faithfully sustained this little, growing family…and my passion for Him!
As of today, I’m now a full-time “pastor” at Grace Covenant Church, which I’ve been privileged to be a part of the planting of, since we came alongside in the earliest stages of its seed form in late 2006. The work has grown and the fit is right and the Lord has made it undeniably clear that this was the next move for Adam and the James Gang.
The transition has been peaceful for everyone and I couldn’t speak highly enough of Greg & Candy McPherson (Life-Trac founders) and the whole team at Life-Trac (Ray! Bev! Kellie!). I know we will continue to partner together in ministry into the future.
The sense of gratitude I feel to the Lord and my friends and partners in both ministries….leaves me shaking my head.
I’m no King David, but I often think of David’s words after the Lord gave him the promise of the Kingdom being established and his lineage never ceasing to have a king on the throne (2 Samuel 7), which King Jesus fulfills having come in the line of David (Matthew 1:1).
David’s prayer is an example of “stupified humility” and gratitude that I have also felt from the first day I understood what it meant to be forgiven and saved and accepted by God because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross in my place for my sins!
David began his prayer…. (2 Sam. 7:18)
“Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me this far?”
A humbled sinner, overwhelmed by the faithfulness and grace of God, trusting Him for the days ahead,
Adam for the Gang
That’s right! For some of you, this may be new information, but I know many of you have heard by now…
